Data practices
Public API endpoints, processed data and retention
The client accesses only public data using an API key. No endpoint performs any write action.
YouTube Data API endpoints
| Endpoint | Purpose | Authentication | Write access | Quota |
|---|---|---|---|---|
channels.list | Resolve manually registered public channels and retrieve current public channel information. | API key, public data | None | General Data API bucket |
playlistItems.list | Discover public uploads from registered channels. | API key, public data | None | General Data API bucket |
videos.list | Retrieve public video metadata, availability and selected statistics. | API key, public data | None | General Data API bucket |
videos.batchGetStats | Retrieve current public statistics for registered public videos efficiently. | API key, public data | None | Separate granular quota bucket |
videos.batchGetStats uses a separate granular quota bucket and is documented at developers.google.com. It is tracked separately from the general Data API quota.

Retention
Current controls are active today. Extended (36-month) retention is a requested scope only and stays disabled unless explicitly approved.
| Subject | Current control | Status | Requested scope |
|---|---|---|---|
| Current non-authorized API data | Delete within 28 days | Active | — |
| Public statistics | Delete within 28 days | Active (28-day) | Up to 36 calendar months only if explicitly approved |
| Approved derived metrics | Disabled | Disabled | Up to 36 calendar months only if explicitly approved |
| Titles, creator names, descriptions and other metadata / raw text | Continue to follow applicable 30-day refresh/delete rules even if extended statistical storage is approved | Active | — |
Approval required for extended retention
Submission of an audit or quota request does not itself grant extended storage permission. Fidenn will not activate extended retention unless Google provides explicit approval for the requested scope.
Derived metrics labeling
Any derived metric that may be enabled after approval is always marked: “Calculated independently by Fidenn; not provided by YouTube.”
